Gov. Rick Scott has appointed Robert E. Long, Jr. to the Second Judicial Circuit Court.

LCSO General Counsel Robert Long appointed to circuit judge bench.

Long, 34, of Tallahassee, has served as general counsel for the Leon County Sheriff’s Office since 2014. He was previously an attorney with Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell, P.A. from 2013-2014.

Long began his legal career as a Judge Advocate in the United States Navy from 2008 - 2013. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and his law degree from the University of Florida.

Long fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge George S. Reynolds.
