LAW

•Messer Caparello, P.A., is pleased to announce that Gigi Rollini, a shareholder and attorney practicing in its full-service Tallahassee firm, has been recognized by the Florida Association of Women Lawyers (FAWL) as one of Florida’s “Extraordinary Women.” FAWL noted in its selection that Rollini is “unquestionably . . . at the top” of her profession. Gigi is an AV-Rated “Super Lawyer” in appellate and administrative law, who has been recognized as one of Florida’s Top 40 Litigators Under 40, Florida’s Most Productive Young Lawyer, a FAWL Leader in the Law, and one of Tallahassee’s 2014 “25 Women You Need to Know.” Rollini serves on the Executive Board of America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend, and as a pro bono lawyer to Legal Services of North Florida on cases with access to court implications. Gigi also represents adults with developmental disabilities in Florida cases of statewide impact.

•Jeff D. Slanker, associate with Sniffen & Spellman, P.A. published an article in the March, 2015 edition of the Checkoff, a publication of the Florida Bar’s Labor and Employment law section. The article focuses on recent court rulings in Florida declaring that Florida’s Constitutional Ban on Same-Sex Marriage violates the U.S. Constitution.

MUSIC

•On March 31, Jaime Garcia Bolao, owner and founder of KeyNotes Piano Studio, received the designation: “Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in Piano” by the Music Teachers National Association. Mr. Garcia Bolao joins only a handful of music instructors in Leon County to earn the designation. According to MTNA, Nationally Certified Teachers are distinguished as having reached a high level of professional competence. They are required to complete numerous projects demonstrating high competence in music teaching, performing, theory, music history and literature, business management, professionalism, and professional renewal. KeyNotes Piano Studio has been serving Tallahassee since 1996.

INVESTMENT

•Voya representative Greg Parsons of Tallahassee was recently recognized with a National Persistency Award for 2014. Parsons has been a local business owner for 17 years and specializes in tax-sheltered annuities for school and government employees.

GOVERNMENT

•Jefferson County Commissioner Gene Hall has been given an award of recognition from the Capital Area Community Action Agency. This is for outstanding service for being the Secretary on the Executive Board of Directors from 2010 until 2015. Gene served as a volunteer for six years on the CACAA board.
