Heat advisory issued for area through Saturday

The US National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the area today through Saturday. Temperatures will be in the upper 90s to around 100 and will be combined with a humid air mass causing very muggy conditions.

Heat indices should exceed 105 in most locations during this time period, and some locations will see heat indices reach the 108 to 111 degree range.

Anyone with plans for outdoor activities, especially doing strenuous work, should take the expected heat into consideration and follow proper heat safety precautions.
